We are kick starting 2022 by making it easier for you to Get Involved with FPM by highlighting opportunities throughout January 2022. One way you can get involved is by joining one of our Working Groups.

Like the sound of committee work, but not sure if you can make the time commitment? Then a Working Group might be for you! These run for discrete periods of time, for specific projects. Working Groups have a wide range of functions. These can include:

  • Planning, organising and helping deliver our flagship events
  • Reviewing and updating select FPM services and functions
  • Shaping and developing new FPM activities

FPM is currently seeking new members for a number of new Working Groups; Education Day working group; ‘Routes to Membership’ working group; ‘Careers in Pharmaceutical Medicine’ working group.

Education Day

Education Day is one of FPM’s flagship events. Run annually, this is a day to explore a particular topic or area in pharmaceutical medicine that is of key interest and importance to pharmaceutical physicians. This Working Group has been established to develop the theme and topics, and to plan the day. It’s a great opportunity to deliver an educational event that has genuine impact and value. FPM members of all grade are welcome to join this group to plan and organise this fun and stimulating event.

To apply, please email Eleanor Kingwell-Banham (Membership and Events Manager) events@fpm.org.uk, by 12:00 (GMT), Monday 31 January 2022.

Routes to Membership

This Working Group has been established to review and update the criteria for the award of Membership (MFPM) including establishing a set of principles by which to review qualifications and considering an alternative ‘experience route’ to MFPM. This is an important project that aims to make FPM a more inclusive and impactful membership body, whilst staying true to our origins and purpose. FPM members of all grades are welcome to join this group.

To apply, please send your CV and a covering letter outlining your interest in the role to membership@fpm.org.uk, by 12:00 (GMT), Monday 24 January 2022.

Careers in Pharmaceutical Medicine

The Working Group has been established to review and update the information, promotion and support that FPM provides on careers in pharmaceutical medicine. We want career advice and support to become a key cornerstone of FPM’s membership offering, and are seeking volunteers who are able to shape, develop and inspire this aspect of our activities. FPM members of all grades are welcome to join this group, for what should be some fun and rewarding work. Find out more.
