As part of our 2026-2028 Strategy, we have launched The Voices of Pharmaceutical Medicine Survey, part of a significant Membership Project designed to ensure that our membership model continues to support pharmaceutical physicians at every stage of their professional journey.
This landmark consultation has been launched to better understand the real-world experiences of those working across pharmaceutical medicine, and how we can better support you, your peers, and the profession as a whole.
Your feedback will help us understand what support professionals in pharmaceutical medicine need, including greater recognition, stronger representation, and a more connected community.
Whether you are a member of FPM or part of the wider community, from clinical development and regulation to research, medical affairs and industry leadership, your voice matters – we want to hear from you!
The survey only takes a few minutes. By taking part, you will help build a clearer picture of pharmaceutical medicine today, and help ensure the profession is supported tomorrow.
As a thank you, you will also have the chance to enter a prize draw to win one of ten £20 One4all vouchers.
About the Membership Project
The Membership Project is a key part of the FPM 2026-2028 Strategy, to ensure that FPM remains the professional home for pharmaceutical physicians, and in line with our modernisation agenda. The environment in which pharmaceutical physicians work is changing – professionally, regulatorily, and within an increasingly global industry, and we want to build a membership framework that is clear, relevant and responsive to the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s members.
The project will be delivered through a series of defined phases over 2026–2028, with structured member engagement at each stage. This will include surveys (such as The Voices of Pharmaceutical Medicine Survey), focused discussion groups, and opportunities to comment on emerging proposals before recommendations are finalised.
To support this work, we have appointed an external Membership Consultant who is providing independent expertise and support as well as challenge throughout delivery.
We expect to see a refreshed membership framework and an enhanced member offer emerging from the consultancy work. This will be supported by a phased implementation and engagement programme in 2027, with evaluation and refinement continuing thereafter.
We are also reviewing options for introducing a membership grade for medical students and enhancing our offer for retired physicians, ensuring that our structure reflects the full professional lifecycle.
