FPM Observes Pride Month 2026
Posted on: Thursday 11 June 2026
We are delighted to be observing Pride Month again this year!
Throughout June we are marking our support of Pride Month. By changing our branding on social media, we publicly demonstrate our allyship to the LGBTQIA+ community. Our mission is to advance the science and practice of pharmaceutical medicine for the benefit of the public – and that is inclusive of people of every sexual orientation and gender identity.

Dr Suji Gopal is the newest member of the EDI Forum and has direct experience working as a physician with the transgender community. Dr Gopal commented:
“Pride Month is a great reminder that equitable healthcare must include everyone. As the transgender community becomes more visible, our commitment to inclusive research needs to grow with it. There are still important gaps in evidence, particularly around pubertal suppression, gender‑affirming hormone therapy, long-term safety and mental health outcomes in children and young people experiencing gender incongruence and gender dysphoria. By working closely with transgender individuals, we can better understand lived experiences, build trust and improve outcomes. FPM has a vital role in championing ethical, inclusive research that drives progress. Together, through collaboration and curiosity, we can help healthcare evolve to better reflect and support the diverse communities we serve with dignity and respect.”
