New Climate Change and Sustainability Forum Chair and Members

Posted on: Wednesday 26 August 2026

Applications are invited for people to join the new Climate Change and Sustainability Forum of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM). We are looking for a Chair and members.

Calling all Fellows, Members, Associates and Affiliate members!

  • Are you committed to the development and promotion of the specialty of pharmaceutical medicine?
  • Are you able to work constructively with a mixed team of volunteers, staff, subject matter experts and others?
  • Are you willing and able to devote the necessary time and effort to fulfil the requirements of the role?

The Climate Change and Sustainability Forum will advise FPM on matters relating to climate change and sustainability. It will ensure that this critical topic is embedded across all of our policy work.

Climate change is a critical issue that permeates all aspects of health and care. Pharmaceutical medicine is particularly susceptible to this issue as there are ever increasing expectations for a reduction in carbon footprints, adoption of sustainable research and development practices, and an ever increasing need to reduce the environmental impact of supply chains. Our members will need to embed climate adaptation into their practice and develop medicines and health technologies that are resilient to climate change.

The Forum will assist in our delivering on the strategic objectives of Promoting a Shared Professional Identity and Extending Reach and Increasing Influence.

Details of the role and of the Committee’s work can be found in the attached documents here.

Applications for Chair are invited from Fellows (FFPM) and Members (MFPM).

Applications for forum members are invited from Fellows (FFPM), Members (MFPM), Associate, and Affiliate members of FPM.

FPM welcomes and actively seeks to recruit people to its activities regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. FPM aspires to reflect the diversity of its members in all its committee, senior roles and staff in general.

Closing date for applications: 17:00 (UK time) on Friday 25 September
