DPM Exam Update: Two Sittings from 2027

Posted on: Tuesday 14 April 2026

We are very pleased to announce that for the first time, all three exams in the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine (DPM) will be offered twice within the calendar year from 2027. The Certificate in Pharmaceutical Medicine (CPM), which forms Part 1 of the DPM, is already delivered twice a year, and this change will now extend the same opportunity across the full diploma.

Achieving the DPM is a landmark achievement for any physician undertaking a career in pharmaceutical medicine. It affirms their knowledge and expertise in our specialty, and their commitment to enhancing the health of society.

We’re pleased to be introducing two annual sittings of the DPM exams from 2027. We hope the change will offer candidates greater flexibility to plan their learning journeys, without compromising on the high standards for which the exams are rightly known.

This reflects FPM’s ongoing commitment to supporting those building careers in pharmaceutical medicine. I am proud that FPM continues to evolve to better support professionals in this field.

Will Booth, Deputy Chief Executive of FPM
