Affiliate membership

We provide a collective voice for our 1,600 members who are striving to advance the research and development of new medicines to help prevent and overcome diseases that impact on the lives of patients worldwide. Our members are all medically-qualified and employed within the pharmaceutical industry, research organisations, drug regulatory authorities – or working as independent consultants.

If you are a physician working in pharmaceutical medicine, we are your professional body!

Am I eligible for Affiliate membership?

Affiliate membership is open to any medical practitioner who:

Works in, or is able to demonstrate a professional interest and connection with, pharmaceutical medicine
Has a medical qualification listed in the WHO Directory
Has current registration with the GMC or the relevant professional body in the country in which you are practising or where you were awarded your primary medical qualification

You do not have to be based in the UK to apply, over 20% of our members are from accross the world. Its easy to apply and you can be an approved Affiliate member in just a few weeks.

How much does it cost?

There is no joining fee and we will invoice you a pro rata amount for your membership subscription from the day you join to 31 December.

The full year rate is £355 for Affiliate members based in the UK and £230 if you are based outside of the UK.

We also have some concessionary rates, for example if you work part time, find out more here.

For the following year, our subscription period runs from 1 January to 31 December each year and you’ll receive an invoice by email in mid December.

What are the benefits of membership?

As an Affiliate member, you get all the same benefits as our Members and Fellows. These are:

Discounted rates for training courses and events offering CPD points
Free to attend member only events
UK and international networking opportunities
Support from our FPM community
Be part of a growing organisation with connections across pharmaceutical medicine, science, industry, regulators, and government

Affiliate membership, however, does not confer the right to vote on FPM matters or the right to append any postnominals or words denoting membership of FPM.
