Seeking members for our new Qualifications for Membership Review Group

This group has been established to review and approve new qualifications recognised for the award of Membership (MFPM), and for the periodic review of qualifications already approved.

The principal responsibilities of the group are to:

  • Review new qualifications using the agreed criteria and make recommendations for the acceptance of these qualifications for MFPM
  • Review currently approved qualifications at least every three years to confirm if there have been any changes to the course content or assessment since the qualification was approved
  • Undertake research, as needed, to support the recommendations made and to identify qualifications for review

This committee is chaired by a Member of the Membership Committee, and works closely with FPM’s Head of Membership, Sarah Davis.

We are seeking members for this review group and all Affiliates, Associates, Members and Fellows are eligible to apply.

FPM initially set up a working group to expand the list of qualifications recognised for Membership (MFPM) and this new permanent group will continue on from their work, find out more here.

Appointment

The method of appointment is open advertisement with members of FPM (Affiliate, Associate, Member, Fellow) eligible to apply. A person specification is provided below. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to meet an appointment committee.


Tenure

Review group members normally serve for a period of three years. This can be extended to a maximum of six years if re-appointed.


Time Commitment

The group will meet twice a year, but only if there are qualifications to review, with meetings held online.  Group members will also provide additional input on specific matters between meetings as required.

Information relating to committee business must be kept confidential unless otherwise agreed by FPM.

Person specification

As part of your application, please provide details and examples of how you meet these criteria:

Essential

  • In good standing with the relevant medical registration body (e.g. GMC)
  • Current Fellow, Member, Associate or Affiliate of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine in good standing

Desirable

  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Evidence of achievement and contributions to the specialty of Pharmaceutical Medicine
  • Currently undergoing revalidation
