Seeking members for the Education Day 2023 working group

This is a call for volunteers to join the Working Group responsible for planning our Education Day event. FPM’s Education Day is an annual event and the next meeting will be held at the Wellcome Collection, London on 14 June 2023.

Principal responsibilities and outputs

The principal responsibilities of the Working Group will be to:

  • Agree overall topic(s) theme for Education Day
  • Work with the Events and Membership Manager to agree the event format, the programme and to secure speakers/workshop leaders
  • Support the Events and Membership Manager in writing promotional content for the website and advertisement
  • Agree, if possible, a new name for this event

Main responsibilities of a working group member

  • Attend online meetings and actively contribute to the work of the group
  • Participate promptly in communications via OneDrive, email or telephone in between meetings as required
  • Undertake other activities as agreed
  • Act in compliance with the FPM’s Policies including its Code of Conduct and Equal Opportunities Policy
  • Act in compliance with FPM’s values
  • Bring impartiality and objectivity to meetings and decision-making

Appointment

This working group is comprised of several members of the FPM Education and Standards Committee, with volunteers sought from other committees and the broader membership.

The method of appointment is open advertisement with members of FPM (Affiliate, Associate, Member, Fellow, Honorary) eligible to apply. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an informal meeting to discuss the objectives of the working group before agreeing to take part.

Time Commitment

The group will meet once a month beginning in December 2022, with meetings held online unless otherwise agreed by working group members. Group members will also provide additional input on specific matters between meetings as required, such as contacting potential speakers. The duration of the working group is 4-5 months.


Confidentiality

Information relating to group business must be kept confidential unless otherwise agreed by FPM.
