The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM) is seeking a new Digital Communications Coordinator.

FPM is a charity and membership body for doctors who work on all aspects of medicines research and development. Our small team work closely with the Board of Trustees and our 1,600 members to deliver on our mission and our strategic objectives, to improve the health of patients around the world.

You will be joining an award-winning team that has a busy schedule of work to support, inform and promote the range of activities from across FPM. The successful candidate will work with staff and FPM members to provide digital communications support; principally social media management, corporate communications processing and website updates and maintenance.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Corporate communications
    • Working with colleagues to capture content and deliver a regular schedule of communications
    • Proactively liaising with authors and contributors in the production of blogs, articles and news items
    • Collating information for and designing the FPM Bulletin, President’s newsletter and other messages
    • Proof-reading copy and editing to the house style when needed
    • Uploading and designing copy on the FPM website
  2. Social media
    • Preparing social media posts, including text, design and scheduling, as directed
    • Creating social graphics from templates and support the development of new social graphic templates
    • Maintaining an optimal flow of output, linking social media with other corporate communications
    • Monitoring of social media activity and preparing periodic reports
  3. Website
    • Using WordPress to upload content to the website, including proofreading and checking for brand consistency
    • Advising on and implementing changes to the structure of the website
    • Carrying out routine maintenance and troubleshooting
  4. Audio/visual processing
    • Assisting with the production of video content and podcasts across FPM, including scheduling with participants and relevant staff, checking scripts, and audio and video recording
    • Editing audio and video content
  5. General
    • To conduct oneself in keeping with FPM’s Values
    • Contribute to and support the work of the wider FPM team, undertaking such other duties as may be from time to time required
    • Provide cover for colleagues as required
    • To undertake the duties of the role in compliance with FPM polices concerning Data Protection, Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety
    • This role will require working outside standard working hours periodically, so flexibility is essential

Pay and conditions

The starting salary will be £28,000. FPM offers a fantastic benefits package, including flexible working, 29 days annual leave, Christmas closure days, birthday leave, cycle to work scheme and pension scheme.
