CPD Event Approval Information

Event Approval Fees and Information

An approval fee of £140 per course is charged to commercial companies who market events externally. Charities, public bodies, not-for-profit organisations and companies organising in-house training events are not charged an approval fee. If the same meeting is held on multiple occasions, where the content of the meeting remains the same, then one application fee will cover all meetings over a two-year period.  If CPD approval is still required after the two-year CPD approval period has expired a renewal application will need to be submitted.

Commercial Companies

The event organiser will need to fill in the event approval application form. This will need to be submitted to cpd@fpm.org.uk along with the programme/agenda for the event. If the event is approved, the Faculty will invoice the organiser for the payment of £140.

What happens once the application for CPD approval has been submitted?

The Faculty will notify the event organiser of the outcome/credit allocation within 2 weeks (please note that applications should be submitted to the Faculty at least 4 weeks prior to the event).

What information can organisers include in promotional material and websites?

Once notification of the credit allocation has been received, this information can be used for promotional purposes with the following form of words 'The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine has approved this event/course for CPD'. The maximum number of CPD points allocated by the Faculty can also be stated. Please note that organisers cannot use the Faculty logo or use any other means which might suggest a wider form of accreditation or partnership. Organisers should contact the Faculty via cpd@fpm.org.uk for guidance if they are unsure about this.

Details of the event/course can be displayed on the Faculty's website if requested.

Please download the Faculty's CPD guidance for event organisers.

Please send any enquiries to cpd@fpm.org.uk.
