Dr Jo Collier

Jo is a GP by training who joined the pharmaceutical industry in 2001 as a research physician in a UK phase 1 unit. It was here that she developed a passion for phase 1 development and an interest in pharmacodynamic biomarkers. This interest was continued in her next role as a translational medicine physician working in pain products at Pfizer. In 2006, Jo moved to Nottingham and became Medical Director of a phase 1 unit, where she was the Principal Investigator for FIH studies covering a wide variety of therapeutic areas. In 2016, Jo joined UCB where she has worked in both clinical development and patient safety.

Jo has acted as an examiner for the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine (DPM) for 10 years, and more recently as an Officer of the Board of Examiners and the MCQ convenor for the DPM Exam.
