Meet the awardees

Congratulations to our Honorary Fellows, Honorary Members and Members by Distinction

Each year, FPM Fellows are invited to nominate exceptional individuals for honorary awards.

Honorary Fellowship is the highest honour FPM can bestow, it recognises the recipient’s eminence within their own field and their outstanding contribution to pharmaceutical medicine.

Honorary Membership is bestowed to persons who have made significant contributions in the fields of research, teaching or the practice of pharmaceutical medicine, or medical or general science, or society.

Membership by Distinction is an exceptional route to Membership for individuals who have made a significant contribution beyond the normal day-to-day practice of pharmaceutical medicine. These awards are limited and may not be made every year.

We are very pleased to have approved Honorary Fellows, Honorary Members and Members by Distinction this year| Find out more about them here

Congratulations to our new Fellows, Members and Specialist Registrants

FAQs

Who can attend?

Everyone who is eligible for an award will be contacted directly. If you think that you have been missed, please email events@fpm.org.uk

Can my family/friends attend the ceremony?

Absolutely! You can invite up to two guests and children are welcome. We may be able to accommodate more than two guests but we can’t guarantee this until we have a better idea of the numbers attending. If you want to request additional guests, email events@fpm.org.uk.

What’s the dress code for the event?

Please dress for a formal awards ceremony, but this is not a black-tie event. When thinking about your shoes, bear in mind that the garden drinks reception will be on grass.

How do I get there?

The venue is close to several tube stations, see the RCP location map for more information.

What time should I arrive?

We will open registration at 18:00 and you should arrive no later than 18:20. This is to give you time to get to your seat before the ceremony starts at 18:30. If you arrive before 18:00, please explore the venue, but you must register with us when we open at 18:00 so we know you are here for your award.

Where do I sit and can I sit with my guest(s)?

Awardees (new Honorary Fellows, Honorary Members, Specialist Registrants, Members by Distinction, Members, Fellows, Medal and Volunteer awardees) and citation readers take their places in the auditorium where seats will be reserved by name. Your guests may sit in any of the unreserved seats behind.

Can I take photos?

There will be a photographer present during the ceremony who will take your photo when you are on stage. The photographer will also take a group shot of all the awardees and attending FPM representatives. You will receive a copy of these photos by email in the weeks following the ceremony.  You can take photos without a flash but please be respectful of the other attendees’ privacy and we ask that you do not record the ceremony.

Is there somewhere for me to store my bags?

RCP has a full cloakroom service for you to securely store your coat and any bags, it is just down a few steps from where you will register with FPM on arrival.

Is the venue COVID secure?

RCP has been awarded the industry-standard ‘We’re Good To Go’ certification and are also AIM COVID secure accredited. You can find more information here: RCP Venue: Covid Guidance
