Access FPM’s e-Learning series: Managing Respiratory Diseases

Start date: Monday 2 June 2025
End date: Monday 4 May 2026

The Managing Respiratory Diseases e-Learning series has been designed by FPM to mitigate unresolved issues and gaps in knowledge related to the management and care of key viral respiratory diseases. The modules have been written by experts in the field.

By the end of this series, learners will feel more confident in identifying signs and symptoms for key respiratory diseases, improved their understanding of treatments and therapies and the correct application of these, and feel better prepared to manage winter pressures and identify high risk patients.

The training programme is run by the FPM Training team. If you have a question about the programme that is not answered on this page or this page, please contact training@fpm.org.uk.

Access the series

This e-Learning programme is available on the NHS Learning Hub and FPM’s very own learning management system, the FPM Learning Hub.

It is up to you which platform you’d prefer to use, as the content is free to access on both and is the same across both platforms.

Differences are outlined below:

NHS Learning Hub

The NHS Learning Hub offers easy access to a broad spectrum of shared self-managed educational content, knowledge, and learning resources for the NHS and social care workforce, as well as general learners. Once you have enrolled onto the programme and start your learning, you will have unlimited access.

If you choose to enrol onto this platform, you will be provided with access to this e-Learning programme only. However, there are lots of other courses available on the platform that you may be interested in.

Individuals who are not within the NHS or social care scope can register for a general account on the NHS Learning Hub using their personal email address. General users will then be granted access to resources that are accessible to the wider audience. See more here about who can access the NHS Learning Hub.

If you already have an account on the NHS Learning Hub, you are working in the NHS and have an NHS email address, and/or you are a registered NHS England and NHS Scotland OpenAthens user, you may find this platform the easiest option for access.

FPM Learning Hub

The FPM Learning Hub is FPM’s own learning management system (LMS). On this platform, we currently host content for the DPM training programme, and hope to add more learning content in the future.

If you choose to enrol onto this platform, you will be provided with access to this e-Learning programme only. A member of the FPM Training Team will be in touch with you to arrange your access. Once you have enrolled onto the programme and start your learning, you will have unlimited access.

Please note, on the FPM Learning Hub, if you do enrol onto this course and do not access the course within 365 days, the system will automatically revoke your access, and you will need to sign up again. You will be warned about this via email ahead of this happening.

If you have existing access to our LMS, are not currently working in the NHS, and/or do not have an NHS email address, you will likely find this route easier. As the LMS is fully managed by the FPM Training Team, on-hand technical support is also available.

If you do not intend to enrol, please refrain from proceeding with the booking process.

All these e-Learning modules are CPD accredited. You can use them for your appraisal. To do so you’ll need to provide:

  • reflection, specifically a couple of paragraphs on what you learnt, what effect it will have on your current practice and how it relates to Good Medical Practice.

Upload these into your portfolio and self-allocate your CPD points at 0.25 credits per 15 mins.

You will need to complete the module to be awarded a CPD certificate.
