Dr. Fauzia Anwar is a distinguished physician and Senior Medical Director, serving as a Medical Safety Assessment Program Lead at Bristol Myers Squibb, USA. With over 15 years of clinical practice across Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, she brings a wealth of global medical experience to her leadership in pharmaceutical medicine.
Since transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry in 2007, Dr. Anwar has held senior roles at several leading global pharmaceutical companies, contributing across therapeutic areas including oncology, immunology, and cardiology. She is widely recognized for her expertise in pharmacovigilance, risk management, and global regulatory strategy.
Dr. Anwar earned her medical degree from Fatima Jinnah Medical University in Pakistan. She continued her academic training in the United States, completing advanced coursework in medical and pharmacovigilance sciences at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ, now Rutgers University), along with a research fellowship in infectious diseases.
She was recently elected Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM) of the Royal Colleges of Physicians, reflecting her ongoing commitment to advancing the science and practice of pharmaceutical medicine.
In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Anwar is an active member of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) and TAKMIL (Teach A Kid Make Individual Life). She also serves as Director of the Kashi Village Female Vocational Center in Pakistan, promoting education and empowerment for women.
Dr. Anwar is passionate about improving patient outcomes, mentoring future pharmaceutical physicians, and contributing to global efforts in medicine safety and innovation.
