Fellowship FAQs

Fellowship is a recognition of achievement at a high level in the profession of pharmaceutical medicine. It signifies peer recognition and acknowledges individuals who have made significant contributions to the practice and science of pharmaceutical medicine. 

Eligibility is based on experience and seniority in the specialty of pharmaceutical medicine. It is open to those with specialty training in other disciplines and those who qualified in medicine outside the UK. Fellowship is not dependent on time served as a Member (MFPM). 

There are two different routes to attain FFPM: a. Application via current Membership (for current Members (MFPM) of FPM) b. Direct application route (for Affiliate members, Associate members, and other physicians who are not members of FPM) 

Yes, but nominations from current Fellows must also include a short letter of assent from the individual being nominated confirming that a) they are aware they are being proposed for Fellowship; b) they are happy to be proposed; and c) they accept that, if the nomination is successful, they will be required to pay the Fellowship subscription fee with effect from the next applicable start date.

No, your application will not be processed until your annual subscription is paid.

Only current Fellows of FPM in good standing can support self-nominations for both routes: via direct application and Membership route. 

The Fellowship and Awards Committee can only use the information submitted to make a decision, so applicants are urged to provide sufficient, relevant detail, supported where possible by examples. Information must be provided for each criteria described below.  

Simply providing a CV and/or links to social media profiles with references will not be acceptable.
