Applications for Election of Members (MFPM) to Ordinary Fellowship (FFPM) 2020

How to apply for Fellowship: 

The application process is straight forward. You need to provide a copy of your CV, together with statements relating to your contributions to the practice of our specialty and to FPM. Perhaps you feel that your contributions are not yet sufficient? Think broadly about how you support and encourage the achievement of good pharmaceutical medical practice in your own work and that of your colleagues. Examples of activities are included in the application form for guidance so take a look at these.

Members of FPM (MFPM) are eligible to apply for Ordinary Fellowship by one of two routes:

Membership (MFPM) for eight years or more: If you have held Membership (MFPM) for eight years or more, you are invited to apply for Fellowship. So those awarded Membership on, or before, 31 May 2012. However, if you have any gaps in your Membership you will not become eligible to apply until the equivalent of eight full years has been fulfilled.  

Members (MFPM) who have been on the GMC Specialist Register for Pharmaceutical Medicine for at least two years: If you are a Member (MFPM) and have been on the GMC Specialist Register for Pharmaceutical Medicine for at least two years, you are invited to apply for Fellowship. So a registration date on, or before, 31 May 2018.

Applicants for election to Ordinary Fellowship (FFPM) are required to provide a declaration in support of their application from a Fellow (FFPM) who is in good standing. The supporting Fellow needs to submit the support form below.

Proposals for Election of Honorary Fellows, Honorary Members and Members by Distinction 2020

How to nominate for Honorary and by Distinction awards:

Only Fellows of FPM (FFPM) in good standing may nominate individuals for these categories of membership and two proposers are required. The nomination form provides more information on criteria and guidance on completing the form.

Fellows nominating an individual for Honorary Fellowship, Honorary Membership or Member by Distinction are required to provide a declaration in support of their nomination from an FPM Fellow who is in good standing. The supporting Fellow needs to submit the support form below.

The Fellowship and Awards Committee

The Fellowship and Awards Committee consists of the Presidents of the parent Colleges or their nominees, the Officers of FPM, the Chairs of FPM Committees, the Chair of the Board of Examiners, a Lay Trustee and four FPM Fellows appointed by the Board of Trustees. The committee are responsible for considering all proposals for Fellowship, Honorary Fellowship and Honorary Membership in the first instance and for advising the Board of Trustees.

The decision to admit an individual as Fellow, Honorary Fellow, Honorary Member or Member by Distinction is made by the Board of Trustees after consideration of the report of the Fellowship and Awards Committee. The Board of Trustees will meet in May 2020 and you will be informed of their decision within one week of the meeting.
