Board Elections and Appointments 2021

Do you have the attributes and vision to be a member of our board of trustees? At this time of change and challenge, FPM needs an inspiring and innovative board. Being a trustee gives Members and Fellows the opportunity to drive strategy and improvements to governance, implement change and lead FPM in delivering on our mission and make a real difference for benefit of the public.

Applications are invited from Fellows and Members for appointment as Trustees of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine. The new Trustees will serve a three-year term commencing 10 November 2021.

There are three vacancies on the Board of Trustees:

  • Fellow Trustee – via appointment. You apply directly for this role.
  • Member Trustee – via appointment. You apply directly for this role.
  • Fellow Trustee – via election. You need to be nominated for this role.

Appointment to the Board of Trustees

Applications are invited for the appointment of one Fellow Trustee (FFPM) and one Member Trustee (MFPM). Honorary Fellows and Members are not eligible to apply.

  • your full contact details,
  • a one-page summary (maximum one-page A4 size, approx. 500 words) clearly setting out how you meet the specifications and requirements for the role and why you are interested, and
  • a copy of your current CV.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a selection panel in September.

Trustees need to comply with our Code of Conduct for Trustees and the Declaration of Interests Policy. These policies are available below, and you should read these before you apply as you need to be aware of the responsibilities of being a Trustee.

Election to the Board of Trustees

Nominations are invited for the election of one Fellow Trustee of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine. Only Fellows of FPM (not including Honorary Fellows) are eligible for nomination for election.

How to nominate

Nominations should be made via the official forms provided below.

You are reminded that Fellows and Members are eligible to propose and second nominations and to vote in any subsequent ballot. Affiliates, Associates, Honorary Fellows and Honorary Members cannot propose or second nominations, or vote in any subsequent ballot.

Each nominee must confirm in writing their willingness to be nominated and to serve if elected, and submit an election statement which will be circulated with ballot papers if a ballot is required.

Trustees need to comply with our Code of Conduct for Trustees and the Declaration of Interests Policy. These policies are available below and you should read these before submitting your candidate statement as you need to be aware of the responsibilities of being a Trustee.

As FPM is a registered charity, these roles carry Trustee and Company Director status. The Trustee Board is responsible for FPM governance as well as determining its future direction. Trustees are required to comply with FPM’s Code of Conduct for Trustees and the Declaration of Interests Policy. These policies are available below and potential applicants/nominees are asked to read these before their application/nomination is submitted so that they are aware of the responsibilities.
