Revalidation: Specialty Standards

The medical Royal Colleges and Faculties have been working with the GMC both directly and through the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC) on an on-going basis to set the standards for revalidation.

Specialty Guidance Core document

A template was developed by a working group, comprising members of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges Revalidation Steering Group, providing generic guidance on the supporting information required by all doctors for appraisal and revalidation. In addition, all medical Royal Colleges were invited to provide, where appropriate, specialty specific guidance for each item of supporting information. The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine completed this exercise for doctors working in pharmaceutical medicine in late Summer 2011. The outcome of the deliberations of the Academy working group is awaited and will be posted on this page when available.
