Fellowship Elections
The following is for information only. The deadline for 2008 proposals was 29 April 2008.
Proposals for Election of Members to Ordinary Fellowship 2008 Under the current guidelines, Ordinary Members (MFPM) of the Faculty who have been engaged in pharmaceutical medicine for at least ten years full-time or equivalent part-time engagement are eligible to be nominated for Fellowship.
A
nomination pack, which includes the criteria for election to Ordinary Fellowship and proposal form is now available. A full
timetable of the process is also available.
In March 2007, following a consultation with the membership, the Faculty Board agreed changes to the procedure and criteria for election to Ordinary Fellowship. Faculty encourages Ordinary Fellowship as recognition of experience and expertise or significant contribution in the practice of Pharmaceutical Medicine, it is not an automatic entitlement after a period of time served in the discipline. Fellows nominating Members for Fellowship should follow the guidance carefully with regard to completing the form and providing the requisite supporting documentation. An incomplete form may be rejected. The Fellowship Committee will fully and objectively assess each completed nomination. With the exception of the criterion regarding minimum time served in the discipline, no one criterion outweighs the others in the Committee's consideration of the nomination. It is expected that it will be possible to provide substantive answers to the majority of the questions. The Proposer should use the citation to explain why they are making the recommendation and to expand and provide perspective on the achievements noted in the "evidence in support of the nomination".
Nomination forms will be posted to Fellows of the Faculty at the beginning of February 2008. Please also note that a full curriculum vitae and a letter of assent from the nominee must be attached to the proposal form. The closing date for the receipt of all nomination documentation is Tuesday, 29 April 2008.
Please note (see note below) that from 2008 current Members (by Distinction) can be nominated for Ordinary Fellowship.
Proposals for Election of Honorary Fellows and Members and Members by Distinction
